Nintendo Shows The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at E3 2016
Open your eyes! The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is finally coming to the Nintendo Wii U. After 3 years since its first announcement, Nintendo is able to show off the game at E3 2016. The release has taken so long that the game is also being released on Nintendo’s next console currently referred to as the Nintendo NX. At E3, The Legend of Zelda; Breath of the Wild is the only game Nintendo has playable on their floor.
This trailer shows off the new approach Nintendo has taken with their latest game. The introduction of voice acting and the giant expansive open world visuals have me excited to explore the new world come 2017…or 2016..I dunno, they didn’t tell us when the game was going to be released. Regardless, it is exciting to see voice acting for the first time in the Zelda world. While Link’s grunts in the past games were pretty great, it would be nice to hear a little more.
The world is huge! From what was shown so far in their E3 presentation, it is easy to see how much freedom you get over interacting with your surroundings. We have an introduction of resources to keep you collecting and surviving in this vast world where you have no home. The Nintendo Treehouse coverage is showing off as much as they are allowed in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. While this is great, we aren’t being revealed too much of what we should expect in the actual storyline. How am I supposed to create expectations or make predictions of what will happen?
We do see a lot of new abilities and gameplay that wasn’t possible in past Zelda games. We can finally jump. I never thought that would happen. On top of that, Link is now a proficient rock climber and can scale anything from a tree to a giant mountain. The climbing will help take the high ground and enjoy the incredibly scenic views of the new Hyrule. Also, it’ll probably help if you get lost and need to see where you want to go. I imagine I’ll get lost. The world looks huge.
Finally, we come to the title, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In the past, Nintendo has always named the games after a character or important object in the game. This game focuses on the surroundings and the huge world they have created for Link to explore. The name showcases the world and the freshness Nintendo is trying to bring to the Zelda franchise. So breathe in that artificial nature and awesome art style!
For those seeing this post today, June 15, 2016, Nintendo will be showing more of game starting at 10AM. See the footage for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on their E3 page, Twitch or YouTube channel!
